Eco Design Challenge Rules
The Eco Design Challenge is a competition for Year 8 students or equivalent in the North East of England.
The Eco Design Challenge has been conceived to encourage Year 8 students to think about design and sustainability.
Year 8 students must enter the challenge with the support and guidance of a teacher from their school.
A teacher must register their school by 31 December 2006 to participate.
Once registered the school can access and use the teaching and learning materials developed for the challenge from the Dott 07 website.
If the school decides not to complete the challenge whilst registered Dott 07 would ask they inform them of the decision.
Short listing of schools that takes place in March 2007 will be judged by independent individuals from invited organisations, the same individuals will also judge the final submissions in July 2007. Where the same individuals are not available suitable replacements will be recruited.
Dott 07 will always have the final decision for short listing.
Where designers and domain experts are invited into schools to assist with student’s work they are the sole responsibility of the school concerned and Dott 07 will carry no liability for their health and safety whilst on site at the school.
It is advised that designers and domain experts always work alongside a teacher and students and not in isolation with a student or groups of students.
Dott 07 retains the right to amend or change the rules of the challenge at any point.
